On October 30th rockstar launched a competition to guess the release date for GTA 5. If you get it right, you stand a chance of winning a copy of the game once it's released. Because they still had no official GTA 5 release date announcement from Rockstar Games, the competition is still running!
So far they had over 620 entries, but there are still a few dates in 2012 which haven't yet been taken. If you want to enter it's completely free, all you need to do is Register on rockstar"s website, then Login and visit the GTA 5 Release Date Competition page to submit your prediction.
Full terms and conditions can be found in the original news post and on the competition page, but please remember:

Full terms and conditions can be found in the original news post and on the competition page, but please remember:
- Strictly ONE entry per person. People who enter twice using different accounts will be disqualified.
- You're guessing the original release date for the game. If the game launches in different countries at different times, we need the date of the FIRST launch.
- The date format you need to enter is MM/DD/YYYY. If you enter the wrong date format, you won't win.
- You are responsible for checking your date before submitting it. Once you click submit, it's final and can't be changed. Don't enter 1986 as the release date like one person did unless you don't want to win ;)
- If more than one person chooses the correct date, a random draw will take place from all correct entrants to determine the winner.
- Also remember, this competition is not affiliated with Rockstar Games in any way.
They also have a forum topic where you can discuss your entry and see which dates others have picked.
The folks over at GTAV.net have pointed out a very interesting discovery with regards to the main character in GTA 5. On the first GTA 5 Trailer we heard a man talking and we're still speculating on who this could be, however a member calledDourvas on GTAForums spotted some pretty convincing similarities between the old guy in the trailer and an actor namedNed Luke.
As you can see from the above image, both Ned and the trailer character look very similar. As we've seen in previous GTA games, the in-game characters are very often based on how the actual voice artist looks.
Bear that in mind, plus the fact that he sounds fairly similar too, and we may be looking at the main protagonist in GTA 5 - voiced by Ned Luke.
Official Playstation Magazine UK have just let us know about something interesting they spotted when examining the trailer. We've gone through it frame by frame hundreds of times but this is something we missed so we thought it was worth bringing to you.
In the scene where the "Blue Car Guy" and some buddies are robbing what could be a jewellery store with their bug van, it looks like the "Red Car Guy" from the red car in the trailer may actually be the driver of the van. See below with the image courtesy of Official Playstation Magazine UK. While they claim this confirms multiple characters, it doesn't necessarily mean we play as both. But it would lead us to believe they are connected.

And here are the two people we think might be shown in this scene
What do you think?
What do you think?
- "Pleasure Pier" (real life Santa Monica Pier)
- Peds are on the actual pier itself.
- Girl joggers checking out guy joggers and then talking about it
- Other ped interactions
- Different ped clothing (or lack of)
- "Pump & Run Gymnasium" shirt
- Security camera warning sign - will this be a reason for us to attract the law when we break it?
- Various other signs
- Various objects: trash can, garbage, benches, fire hydrant, etc
- Observatory (real life Griffith Observatory) on hillside - will it be simply the "Los Santos Observatory" again?
- Building on far left is real life Fairmont Miramar Hotel
- Tall white building on left is real life California Bank & Trust at 100 Wilshire Blvd with Wilshire Palisades Law Group to the right of it (short) and 233 Wilshire Blvd is possibly the dark building behind that
- To the right of the observatory is a building with similar features to the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica
- On the right along the pier is the real life Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. (left of pier) and Looff Hippodrome plus the restaurant building(right of pier)
- There's a few buildings above the previous two. The little peaked roof could possibly be the bell tower of the real life El Sermon Del Monte Church at Hill and 2nd streets in Santa Monica. It could also be a take on the Shutters Hotel.
